Canon is expected to release the EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens very soon. Digicame, the Japanese photography blog has published some specs on this new lens. This lens will give those who take a lot of videos the advantage of STM technology. For the rest of us, including myself, I will stick to the venerable EF 24-105mm f/4L IS lens instead.

- Smooth and quiet AF capability provided by stepping motor
- Full-time manual focus
- 4 stop Image Stabilizer compensation
- Maximum shooting magnification 0.3x
