Apple Announced Smart Battery Case for iPhone 6

Apple iPhone 6 Smart Battery Case

Apple announced their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September, 2015. You can read my post on the phone's review here. Some users think smartphones have replaced digital cameras and make the iPhone the only device they carry, combining phone, camera and pocket computer, all rolled into one.

Of course there is one drawback. The battery will not even last a day if usage is extensive. Luckily, Apple has introduced a new battery case to extend the battery life. This new soft silicone case has a microfiber inner lining and makes inserting and removing the phone rather easy. There is a hump in the back of the case that contains the extra battery power.

The case and phone can be charged simultaneously. Apple claims the Talk time, Internet use and Video playback can be increased to 25, 18 and 20 hours, from 14, 10 and 11 hours, respectively.
The phone's remaining power can be displayed through its intelligent battery status, located on the Lock screen and in Notification Center.

Apple Store sells the iPhone 6s Smart Battery Case for $99. It comes in Charcoal Gray and White colors. Other battery cases may be available for the iPhone 6 Plus and older iPhone models in the future.

Apple iPhone 6S Camera Hands-On Review

Canon recently announced their top-of-the-line Powershot G3X camera and Apple followed with their release of the iPhone 6 S and iPhone 6S Plus in September. A short while ago, Qualcomm boasted their SnapDragon 820 chip will enable smartphones to have 'DSLR quality' photography. Are smartphones really outsmarting DSLR cameras? You know the answer already.

I have just returned from my wildlife photo shoot in South Africa. Brought my smartphone and DSLR cameras because they both perform different functions well. You can see my works on MichaelDanielHo.com. Take a look at DigitelRev's video review of the Apple iPhone 6S's camera.

Apple Announced iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

Apple iPhone 6S Rose Gold Edition

Today, Apple announced their new 4.7 inch iPhone 6S and 5.5 inch iPhone 6S and iPad Pro tablet. The new iPhones are powered by an A9 chip and M9 motion coprocessor that deliver up to 70% faster CPU performance and up to 90% faster graphics compared to the A8 chip inside the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus also have a second-generation Touch ID fingerprint scanner that is up to two times faster compared to Touch ID on previous iPhones. They feature a new 12 MP rear-facing iSight camera with 4K video recording, plus a 5 MP front-facing FaceTime camera with true tone Retina Flash. The front display will flash for a split second instead of traditional LED flash, when photographing in low light conditions.

And for the first time, a Rose Gold color option is available. Pre-orders start in a few days but the official launch date is September 25 in selected countries. The new iPhone 6S retails for $199/$299/$399 for 16GB/64GB/128GB respectively on a two-year contract. iPhone 6S Plus retails for $299/$399/$499 for 16GB/64GB/128GB respectively on a two-year contract. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and many other mobile phone companies around the world will provide financing and leasing programs for the new phones.
