The current EF 24-105mm f/4L IS lens is my favorite walk around lens for travel and wildlife photography. I have placed my pre-order for the Series II lens already.

In addition to the newly announced EOS-5D Mark IV DSLR camera, Canon has also introduced two EF-Series L-series lenses as well as the W-E1 WiFi adapter card. The new EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens features a large diameter GMO dual surface aspherical lens and ground aspherical lens, f/2.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range, fluorine coating, improved durability and is dust and water resistant.

The new EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Standard Zoom lens features an improved four-stop image stabilization as well as ghosting and flare reduction with air sphere coating. The Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM Ultra-Wide Zoom Lens is scheduled to be available late in October for an estimated retail price of $2,199.00 and the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM  Standard Zoom Lens is scheduled to be available in late October for an estimated retail price of $1,099.00.

Tamron Patents 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 VC Lens

I am back from my Alaska/Canada Wildlife Photo Tour. It was my annual shoot and this time I put the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II camera to more real world tests. Beginning to get back to my daily routine and keeping my readers up to date on the latest photography news while I was away.

Tamron is planning to wow the Photokina attendees with multiple lens announcements in September. The latest patent discovered by Egami is the 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 for APS-C sensors. By the way, Sigma is planning to do the same and take a look at what Canon has installed for us for the rest of 2016, including the EOS-5D Mark IV camera, scheduled to be announced August 25.

Canon is expected to announce the Rebel SL2 camera and two lenses on August 14, 2015. Canon is also expected to announce the EOS-5D Mk IV and EOS-1D X Mk II cameras later this year or early 2016, but most probably after Nikon announces their D5 camera first.

The EF-35mm f/1.4L II seems to be the most likely candidate with a possible list price of $1,699. The other lens may be the EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM. Keep checking back for the latest news and development.

This third generation Speedlite is a perfect primary flash unit for amateur and advanced amateur photographers looking to create beautiful portraits with Canon digital cameras such as the EOS Rebel T6i, as well as professional photographers looking for a small and lightweight secondary flash.

Canon Announcement Coming August 14, 2015

Canon may be ready to announce a new camera and two lenses on August 14, 2015. Although they are expected to announce the EOS-5D Mk IV and EOS-1D X Mk II cameras later this year, I would be surprised it turns out to be either one. My feeling is Canon will wait till Nikon announces their D5 camera first before making a move.

My guess is probably the announcement may be the EOS Rebel SL2 camera and perhaps the EF-35mm f/1.4L II plus a EF or EF-S lens. Keep checking back for the latest news and development.

New Canon PowerShot and STM Lens Coming Soon?

Canon may be planning a slew of new announcements leading up to the all important Photokina Show in Cologne, Germany on September 16. In addition to the EOS-7D Mk II camera, they may also announce a new, compact PowerShot model with a 'large' one inch sensor to compete with models from other camera manufacturers.

In addition, new STM lenses, like the EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, may also be announced and comes as a kit package for the EOS-7D Mk II body. Keep checking back for the latest information and development.
