Canon has released new firmware Version 1.1.1 for the Canon 90D to add 24p to 4K and Full HD.
Canon EOS 90D Firmware v1.1.1 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes :
The option to capture both 4K and Full HD movies in the frame rate of 23.98p has been newly added.
Fixes an issue where error code “Err 01” may be displayed when using EF85mm F1.8 USM or EF100mm F2 USM lenses.
Canon has released new firmware for EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM and EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM.
Firmware Version 1.1.2 incorporates the following enhancements :
Increases the manual focus speed when the manual focus speed switch is set to 1 or 2. *The speed when the switch is set to 3 (slowest speed) will be unchanged.
Improves the image stabilization effect during handheld shooting with a slow shutter speed when used with EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS 6D, or EOS R.
*Enables a full-time manual focus function during Servo AF when used with the EOS-1D X Mark II.
The lens must be sent to the Factory Service Center in order for this function to be enabled.
If the lens’ firmware is already Version 1.1.2, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
The lens firmware version can be checked from the camera’s menu.
United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 9 October 2019 – Canon Inc. today celebrates a significant camera-manufacturing milestone, as production of Canon’s EOS-series silver halide (film) and digital interchangeable-lens cameras surpassed 100 million units on 20 September 2019. An EOS R mirrorless camera (released in October 2018) was the 100 millionth EOS-series camera produced.
Boasting an attractive product line-up that caters to a variety of genres, skillsets and requirements and an extensive range of over 70 EF and EF-S lenses, Canon strives to expand the boundaries of imaging expression. The EOS series has supported many users, from entry-level through to professionals over its long history, and enabled Canon to maintain the No. 1 share of the global interchangeable-lens digital camera market for 16 consecutive years from 2003 to 2018. In March 1987, the EOS series began with the EOS 650, a next-generation AF single-lens reflex (SLR) camera featuring the world’s first fully electronic lens mount. Production of the EOS series began in what was then Canon’s Fukushima plant and now takes place at a variety of locations - including Taiwan, Miyazaki, Nagasaki and the lynchpin Oita Canon – where production is now carried out under stringent product quality management. RF15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM
As Canon’s first F2.8 wide zoom lens equipped with IS for full-frame with a CIPA standard of five stops, the RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM lens is furnished with edge-to-edge sharpness throughout the zoom range to capture clear images with high image clarity from the center of the image throughout the entire focal range. RF24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM

Free Firmware Update
In addition, a new, free downloadable firmware update will be released in late September for the EOS R system. Those interested can download the update for their respective system via the EOS R and EOS RP support pages. The update will improve three main functions :

Subject identification
The firmware update aims to add detection of the subject’s eye when the subject is at a distance, improve overall AF frame tracking for moving subjects, as well as improve initial subject recognition and start tracking when subjects are at a distance.

The Canon RF15-35mm F2.8 L IS USM and RF24-70mm F2.8 L IS USM lenses are both scheduled to be available in late September 2019 for an estimated retail price of $2,299.00* each.
