Despite the challenge posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, Canon is expected to launch the much anticipated prosumer EOS R5 full frame mirrorless camera in the month of July as well.
The less expensive, consumer version will be known as the EOS R6, with the following rumored specifications :
- 20MP full-frame CMOS sensor
- IBIS
- 12 fps mechanical and 20 fps electronic.
- OverSampled 5K, 4K @ 60p, 1080i/120p video
- Canon Log
- 10-bit video shooting
- AF system identical to EOS R5
- Bluetooth 4.2 (EOS R5 gets Bluetooth 5.0)
- Dual SD UHS-II card slots
- Head and Animal detection AF
- No top-down screen
- 5M-dot EVF identical to EOS R5
- Lower resolution EVF than EOS R5
- Build quality not as good as EOS R5
- LP-E6NH battery. Same as EOS R5
- New grip with extra battery
- Announcement second week of July 2020
- Shipping date - August 2020
- List price about $2,500 in the U.S.
