Canon New DSLR and PowerShot Coming In May

2014 is expected to be Canon's comeback year after a tumultuous 2013. They are off to a decent start by announcing some exciting hardware and software additions to their Cinema EOS line. Now it appears Canon is finally ready to release their long awaited, EOS-7D Mk II camera next month.

The Canon EOS-7D is my favorite APS-C body and choice for the best value, cropped frame camera 4 years in a row. In addition, the PowerShot SX60 is also expected to be announced. This is the replacement to their popular SX50 but with a purported 100x zoom lens.

In addition, there will be a few EF and EF-S lenses debuting in May. Then, Canon may be ready for a second round of product announcements in late August or early September, just in time for the 2014 Photokina Show on Seprtember 16 - 21, in Cologne, Germany. Keep checking back for the latest news and development. You can see many wildlife photos taken around the world on my website MichaelDanielHo.com

The long awaited Canon EOS-7D Mk II may be upon us finally. After the test trials at the 2014 Winter Olympics, Canon seems to be ready to finalize the specs and release the camera for production. Four years is a long time for a replacement model to emerge but hopefully it will be worth the wait.
