One of the most iconic images, known worldwide as Earthrise, is turning 45 years old on Christmas Eve. And so NASA thought it appropriate to share the story of how luck and teamwork helped the astronauts of Apollo 8 capture this amazing photo.
Mosy of us have seen the classic Earthrise photo taken by Apollo 8 on Christmas Eve, 1968 using one of the Hasselblad cameras on board. Watch the video to see how astronauts Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders used teamwork and superior training to turn a spectacular event into one of NASA's most legendary images.
