Canon EOS-7D Mk II and EOS-70D cameras

Invitations have gone out in two countries from Canon to attend introductory events in the last half of March, 2013. There is a good chance the EOS-70D may be announced during one of these events. Please read my earlier post and the latest post  on this topic.

More leaks have been circulating about the upcoming EOS-7D Mk II camera. We know there are more than one prototype designs out there being tested. Canon may be testing the market acceptance for a little brother to the EOS-1D X, much like the EOS-6D is the little brother of the EOS-5D Mk III. You can read my earlier post on the EOS-7D Mk II camera.

One of the experimental EOS-7D Mk II design may have an integral grip and EOS-1D like battery to facilitate faster AF performance. If true, this may turn the camera into a 'Baby EOS-1D X' and most welcomed by me because I always add the grip to a non EOS-1 body to give me that extra feel and firmer hold on the camera. Still on my whale photo shoot in Maui. The EOS-1D Mk IV, EOS-1D X and the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS lens are doing yoeman's work for me.
