Wildlife Photography - Humpback Whales in Maui, Day 8

Born To Be Wild

A Tail Of Adventure

Born Free, as free as the wind blows

The Humpback whales are coming to the zodiac more often as the days go by and I am loving it. My only regret on this trip is I do not have the professional underwater housing for taking photos beneath the sea. Next year I will bring the proper equipment and return with even more exciting underwater photos of my beloved whales.

In the first photo, this young whale is giving me a classic and beautiful full breach pose. This is what above water Humpback whale photography is all about.

The second photo illustrates the unique bottom fluke markings of this beautiful Humpback. No two Humpbacks in the world have the same markings. They are as unique as our fingerprints or the stripes of a Tiger.

The third photos shows the water can get rougher when the trade winds blow but it does not affect the young and the free Humpbacks bent on having some fun.
