Egami, the Japanese photography blog discovered two new Canon patents involving a wide angle flourite concept. Such a patent could be part of a new ultra-wide zoom lens, perhaps a EF 14-24mm or a replacement to the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 IS II. Egami also thinks it’s possible this patent could be for the EF-M mount. It’s an interesting concept and speculation. You can see a video from Canon on using flourite in high performance leses.
