Canon EOS-1D X and EOS-1D C Firmware Coming Soon

Canon is expected to release a new Firmware for the EOS-5D Mk III camera by the end of April to enable auto focusing down to f/8. This has been confirmed by Chuck Westfall of Canon recently at the NAB Show in Las Vegas. In addition, the new Firmware may also address the slow AF assist issue with the Speedlites. See the previous post on this topic.

The Canon EOS-1D X camera is expecting a new Firmware to be released in May to address the slow AF assist issue with the Speedlites as well. The EOS-1D C hybrid DSLR camera also has a new Firmware coming out to enable the user to record video in 25p in 4K resolution. Canon is trying to finish up the final testing of the new software in time for a May release.
